Judging by the wine-making going on in the winery this month, it must be November! Can we start by saying thank you to everyone who is responsible for our wine stocks depleting?  Activity includes a recently-rolled-out batch of Raspberry Dessert Wine as well as a new batch of Bumbleberry Fruit Wine ready for the bottle.   We are very happy to get these two favourites on the shelf in time for the Christmas season.

What’s more fun than doing your Christmas shopping at a Christmas Market?  There are so many unique vendors and so much local product.  Come on out and support Alberta, and have fun at the same time!

In an attempt to help you with that Christmas list this year, we have put together some great Christmas Gift Packs, featuring one Fruit Wine and one Dessert Wine, all packaged up with cellophane and a ribbon and selling at 10% off!

We have three different packs to choose from:  a “Drier” pack (Black Currant Fruit Wine and Wild Black Cherry Dessert Wine); a “Medium-dry” pack (Bumbleberry Fruit Wine and Saskatoon Dessert Wine), and a “Sweeter” pack (Strawberry-Rhubarb Fruit Wine and Black Currant Dessert Wine).   We will have them available at Christmas markets as well as Calgary Farmers Market now until Christmas.   No matter who you’re buying for, we have you covered.  Co-workers, hostess gifts, corporate clients, neighbours, friends and family…when it comes to gift giving, what could be simpler?

And if you haven’t yet tasted our Mulled Cherry Wine, come on out to a market this month and try a sample.  Trust me on this one – Simmering Alberta Cherry Wine with apple juice, cloves and cinnamon will add a new dimension to your Christmas feasting.   Your guests will love it, and the wonderful aroma wafting through your house will have “Yuletide” written all over it…

Over at Calgary Farmers Market, we are excited to be part of a new Christmas Market event, running four consecutive weekends beginning November 18.  We invite you to start a new holiday tradition with us.  Enticing aromas, a festive glow, delicious treats, and plenty of Christmas cheer await you.  All of your favorite Calgary Farmers’ Market vendors, plus new and exciting holiday vendors, will be offering holiday gifts, food, jewelry, décor and more. And there will be plenty of activities – from Santa and carolers, to gifting workshops and kids’ activities.  We’ll be open late on November 18 for the kick-off party event.  Come on down!

And finally, if you are looking for a “night-out”, delightful tasting event this month, we have you covered.

Join us November 4th and 5th at the Shaw Conference Center in Edmonton for the biggest tasting event of the season – the Rocky Mountain Wine & Food Festival.  Nearly 400 wines, 100 crisp brews, countless other beverages and dozens of gourmet bites – this can’t be beat.  Take your palate on a taste adventure in the Edmonton Grand Tasting Hall this weekend.  More information and tickets at:  www.rockymountainwine.com.   See you there!

Later in the month, come join us and the legion of wine-tasters at “Grape Escape”, Co-op’s biggest-of-the-year tasting event.  It’s on at the BMO Center in Calgary November 18 and 19 from 6-10pm (Friday) and 5-9pm (Saturday).  More information is available at www.coopwinespiritsbeer.com.  Be sure to come by our booth and say hello.

And that’s all our news for this month.  Happy November, everyone!  We hope you enjoy the coming season.
